Golgi body

Hello and today my entry will be about the Golgi body. The I call the golgi body the bubble gum of the cell because it looks like a bubble gum. Well the golgi body are found mostly on eukaryotic cells. The golgi body is composed of membrane bound stacks known as cisternae. The golgi bodyies basic function is to help or to modify cargo proteins that travel through them. You can also say that when proteins get to the golgi body they are packaged and sent to a required location.

The golgi body packages and sends protiens to lots of places in the cell like the cell membrane and the secretory vesicles, and it also provides the cell with proteins to stay healthy. The trans face of the golgi network is the face from which the vesicles leave the golgi. The golgi plays an important role in the synthesis of proteoglycans, which are molecules present in the extracellular matrix of animals.

Its also a major site of carbohydrate synthesis. Another important role of the golgi involves the sulfation of certain molecules passing through its lumen. Well know you know something about the golgi body i hope you leave comments and ideas for entries thank you.
